The VoicePen provides a light weight, portable, cost effective solution for Augmentative and Alternative Communication. Symbol or text based messages can be created using VoiceSymbol or VoiceInk and then printed on paper. With a tap of the the VoicePen, the letters, words or messages are then spoken out loud.

There is no need to lug around a static or dynamic device - the VoicePen replaces both because messages are encoded in ink and printed directly on paper. Communication pages can be cut and pasted directly to objects to facilitate language acquisition and word retrieval. Communication pages can range from one symbol to hundreds per page. Pages can be inserted into plastic sheet protectors or laminated to enhance durability. They can also be easily replaced if lost or damaged - just print out another copy!

The VoicePen can also use letters to generate words and messages. Just “type” a word and the VoicePen will say it out loud. String spelled words together to form sentences. Keyboards can be page size or pocket size.

The VoicePen Pack comes with printed core vocabularies as well as both small and large keyboards. Also included are memory cells and a memory page for recording your own messages.

Custom vocabulary can be created using VoiceSymbol or VoiceInk software purchased separately. Both software packages can be used with the VoicePen, a Windows PC, and an iPad. VoiceSymbol provides access to thousands of symbols recorded in multiple languages as well as a text-to-speech engine. VoiceInk works with Microsoft Word to add over 40,000 recorded words to text documents.
